25-29 June, 2024 Dr. Volodymyr Deineka participated in the EUROMXENE congress 2024, Valencia, Spain.
He delivered an oral presentation on the prospects of using 2D MXene nanoparticles of titanium carbide for photothermal therapy of melanoma. After the report, there was a discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of these materials. Since material science researchers from different fields took part in the congress, the possibility of modifying MXenes to increase therapy specificity was discussed. The results that became the basis of this report were obtained during the first year of the MSC4Ukraine project "Innovative two-dimensional nanomaterials for photothermal therapy of melanoma" (Project contract number: 1232462).
